The article addresses the challenges and opportunities of Physical Education in rural schools, highlighting the importance of school infrastructure and the socioeconomic context for educational development. It introduces the relevance of education in shaping citizens, emphasizing the limitations of rural schools compared to urban ones, especially regarding infrastructure that affects Physical Education teaching. The methodology is based on a qualitative literature review with a descriptive focus, using academic sources and database searches. The results indicate that rural schools face challenges such as poor facilities, inadequate school transportation, and multi-grade classrooms, as well as economic disparities that influence school performance. The discussion emphasizes the need for pedagogical and evaluative adaptations in rural schools. Descriptive and continuous assessments are suggested as more appropriate for the rural context, considering students' participation, interaction, and personal development. Community integration and the use of local resources can enrich teaching and promote healthier lifestyles. In conclusion, it reaffirms the need for an educational approach that adapts to the particularities of the rural environment, promoting students' physical, social, and cultural development, while overcoming infrastructure limitations and social exclusion.
