A questionnaire with the Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale (DASS-21) was used to assess symptoms of mental disorders and the Covid-19 Fear Scale (EMC-19). Results: Of the total participants, 68.80% were female, 30.20% male and 29.4% tested positive for Covid-19. The overall prevalence was 46.8% for anxiety, 41.3% for depression and 47.7% for stress. A significant association was observed for the variables age group under 21 years old and positive diagnosis for covid-19 with mental disorders and fear of Covid-19 was associated with the diagnosis of Covid-19 and symptoms of mental disorders. Conclusions: During the Covid-19 pandemic period, a high level of fear, anxiety, stress and depression was observed among dental students, showing the importance of mental health promotion measures in higher education institutions.
