FEAR STRUCK US: THE EMPTINESS OF HUMAN EXPERIENCE AND THE ETHICAL CRISES IN 20TH CENTURY DYSTOPIAS
This paper aims to analyze the unfolding of ethics in the dystopian novels We (1924), by Evgeni Zamiátin, and 1984 (1949), by George Orwell, in order to understand which paths lead subjects and society to face, in the dystopian universe, an ethical crisis. In these narratives, it is observed that ethics among gaps since the dominant institutions in these spaces use the emptying and massification of subjects to manage power through a biased moral ideology, based on the propaganda that sustains the totalitarian state of dystopia.
