THE FREQUENCY SPEED OF KICK TEST PERFORMANCE FOR TAEKWONDO: COMPARISON BETWEEN HIGH AND LOWER PERFORMANCE CADETS AND JUNIOR COMPETITORS

Este estudio compara el desempeño en la prueba de frecuencia de velocidad de patada (FSKT) en atletas juveniles de taekwondo y las diferencias entre los rendimientos más altos y más bajos. Participaron treinta y un jóvenes practicantes/atletas de taekwondo masculinos. Se midió el desempeño en el FSKT con duraciones de 10s y 90s. El número de patadas completas entre los grupos de menor (n=10) y mayor (n=10) rendimiento dejó claro que todos los parámetros evaluados en el FSKT, excepto el Índice de Decremento de Patada (KDI) (p>0,05), fueron superiores en el grupo de mayor rendimiento (p<0,05 para todos). Los individuos con mayor masa corporal presentaron mejor desempeño en el FSKT en la 4ª y 5ª series (rs=0,516 [grande]; p=0,020; rs=0,503 [grande]; p=0,024). Además, una mayor experiencia en taekwondo mejora los resultados en el FSKT (rs=0,464 [moderado]; p=0,039). Cabe destacar que el desempeño en FSKT10s y FSKTtotal están positivamente correlacionados (rs=0,672 [grande]; p=0,001). Los resultados actuales corroboran el FSKT como una prueba de campo relativamente sencilla de aplicar, lo suficientemente sensible para diferenciar el rendimiento entre jóvenes atletas y que puede estar asociado con características físicas importantes para el rendimiento.
