EFEITO DA PRÁTICA DE EXERCÍCIOS FÍSICOS EM AMBIENTE AQUÁTICO SOBRE A SAÚDE MENTAL DE IDOSOS: REVISÃO SISTEMÁTICA

Resumo

O objetivo do estudo foi realizar uma revisão sistemática sobre o efeito da prática de exercícios físicos em ambiente aquático sobre a saúde mental de idosos, e responder a seguinte pergunta: O exercício físico em ambiente aquático proporciona benefícios sobre a saúde mental de idosos? Foram analisados e lidos na integra artigos publicados entre os anos de 2015 a 2020 nos idiomas português e inglês, nas seguintes bases de dados: SCIELO, LILACS e GOOGLE SCHOLAR. Os estudos relataram que a prática sistemática de exercícios físicos em ambiente aquático proporcionou benefícios na qualidade do sono, aumento da motivação em promoção da saúde e melhorias sobre a saúde cerebral, aprimorando o desempenho cognitivo em idosos. A prática sistematizada de exercícios físicos é reconhecida por profissionais da área da saúde como ação não farmacológica, potencializando o desempenho cognitivo e prevenindo contra transtornos mentais comuns e possíveis demências. Porém cabe aos profissionais de Educação Física atribuir maior atenção aos fatores de risco e desenvolver estratégias que visem proporcionar maior funcionalidade e qualidade de vida para a população idosa respectivamente.

Leonardo Geamonond Nunes, UFTM

Sou natural de Campos Altos - MG. Mestre em Educação Física pela Universidade Federal do Triângulo Mineiro - UFTM (2018). Graduado em Educação Física (Licenciatura e Bacharelado) pelo Centro Universitário do Planalto de Araxá - (2007). Tenho experiência no campo prático como técnico da equipe de Natação Minas Paralímpica em Araxá-MG, durante os anos de 2006 e 2007. Atualmente exerço a função de professor em Natação desde 2010 até a data presente, atuando nas quatro esferas do desenvolvimento humano (crianças, adolescentes, adultos e idosos). Também atuo como professor em métodos alternativos de treinamento físico em ambiente aquático, com foco em envelhecimento humano saudável. Fui membro do grupo de estudos e pesquisas NEAFISA/UFTM durante os anos de 2016 a 2018. No campo de ensino tenho expertise em: Ensino Aprendizagem em Natação, Métodos Alternativos de Treinamento Físico em Ambientes Aquáticos e Saúde Mental. O Campo de Investigação é com ênfase em Atividades Aquáticas, Envelhecimento Humano e Saúde Mental.
